About
fairy types
The Fairy type is one of eighteen types in the Pokemon franchise and was introduced in Pokemon X & Y in 2013. It is the latest type to be introduced for more than 12 years! Its main intention was to balance the type chart by reducing the power of dragon types, while also giving an offensive and defensive boost to the Poison and Steel types. Several old Pokémon were retyped and new Pokémon introduced.
Pokémon and moves were altered to match the type. At present, there are 68 different Pokémon, including unique forms and Mega Evolutions, that share this type and 31 different moves with it.
